What is pilates?
Pilates is an essential tool for our modern sedentary lifestyle where we are prone to neck and back pain and stiffness in the joints. It is an enjoyable method of exercise that tones the muscles whilst maintaining flexibility and joint mobility.
The exercises are guided by the physiotherapist to engage your muscles more effectively and to encourage your body to maintain balance and harmony with its new found control. Regardless of your fitness level, exercise experience or lifestyle, a 1:1 Pilates programme will encourage you to strengthen, elongate and balance your body whilst gaining knowledge of your own capabilities.
The programme is tailored to your rehabilitation to improve your posture, alignment and strength. Pilates isn’t an exercise regime so much as a lifestyle opportunity.
